FROM THE FOUNDER

When I created Abayedei, I was in my motherhood era. A mother of two boys (now three!), navigating life in a body I barely recognised anymore.

I wanted clothes that felt comfortable without compromising on elegance. Pieces that made me feel confident, feminine and beautiful. Clothes that were thoughtfully designed, expressive and special enough to make me feel like myself again.

That desire became the heart of Abayedei.

I’ve always loved colour, beautiful fabrics and the freedom to express myself through what I wear. And through Abayedei, I’ve been able to turn that love into something truly meaningful.

Today, one of my greatest joys is seeing women make Abayedei their own, wearing our pieces with confidence and styling them in ways that reflect who they are.

Having explored different paths in entrepreneurship, I can confidently say that Abayedei is a dream come true. More than just a business, I genuinely believe this is part of my purpose. And nothing makes me happier than knowing that something I created has helped another woman feel beautiful, comfortable and confident in her own body.

I’m grateful to be living this dream, not just for myself, but for every woman who has ever felt a little more like herself in Abayedei.

Named in honour of Juliana Aba Yedei Cartey, whose strength, grace and spirit continue to inspire us, Abayedei carries a legacy that goes beyond fashion.
